Step 2: Verify your account

To accept payments through PayFast, your account needs to be verified. To do this you need to submit FICA like documents. You do not have to submit original documents, scanned copies are fine.

You can submit these documents on your account under the ‘Account’ tab (wait for the page to load and then click the red ‘verify’ button, upload your documents, click next and follow the steps). Alternatively, you can email your documents to support@payfast.co.za.

It will take approximately 2 business days to verify your account.

Once your account is verified you will receive a series of emails from us.

You can verify your account as an individual, business or cause account.
