In addition to credit and cheque cards, you can also accept debit card payments with PayFast and payD.
Debit cards are much more prevalent in South Africa than credit cards and you’ll get access to buyers without credit cards. Transactions are final and there is no risk of chargeback to the seller.
PayD
Buyers can only pay with a debit card and payD if they have a debit card issued by Nedbank, ABSA or Standard Bank. They will also need to have an MTN or Vodacom sim card.
If they do not have the above they will not be able to pay with a debit card.
You can enable/disable payD as a payment method on your PayFast dashboard under the Settings tab.
